YMCAs are well positioned to have a positive impact on the lives of middle school age youth. Our middle-school programs offer experiences for young people to learn new skills, spend time with caring leaders, and discover new interests. These programs provide a safe, supervised setting that benefits each child, their family and their community.

Completion of online forms and payment of registration fee RESERVES a spot in the YMCA After School Care program. To complete the registration process, all forms required by Virginia Department of Social Services licensing regulations must be returned to the YMCA at one of our parent information sessions.  A parent or guardian of child in program must attend one of these dates, you can drop in at any time during these sessions to turn in your completed paperwork and finalize your registration.

Tuesday, August 10th 5:30pm-8pm

Sunday, August 15th 2pm-5pm

Thursday, August 19th 8am-1pm

Saturday, August 21st 9am-1pm

Wednesday, August 25th 5pm-8pm

A one-time registration fee applies to each child attending After School Care, and must be included with registration.

As with any YMCA program, the YMCA School-Age Child Care curriculum focuses on the YMCA mission of a healthy spirit, mind and body and are based on our four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The variety of activities include:

  • Health, Wellness, and Fitness
  • Homework Support
  • Service-Learning

IMPORTANT FEE INFORMATION FOR 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR

Registration Fee
$25 annual registration fee per student. (This may have been paid during 2010 Summer Camp registration.) 

Weekly Fee
Facility Members: $75

*All participants at the Shady Grove YMCA location must be a Facility Member.
